An Idea: Everybody Poops.

This is a marketing idea I had for the average “Joe the Plumber.”  As a way to give something back to the plumber’s best customers, give the children’s book, “Everyone Poops.”  Include the plumbing company name and contact info on the inside cover with a nice printed sticker.  Even if the clients don’t have children, it would still be a great gift.

What is something out of the ordinary that you do for your customers?  What creative ways can you bring attention to your business?

My business is an online t-shirts, apparel and giftware shop that focuses on rock climbing, so my client base is(obviously) the rock climbing crowd. There are often events such as workshops in technique, competitions and clean-up parties hosted by manufacturers and community climbing groups.

What I do is provide sticker packets to some events for them to give away at the sign in tables. The stickers(I include 3 or 4 to a pack) are smaller versions of my designs, and I also include one that is my company logo with the URL included as part of the design.

I have also designed stickers specifically for some events(with the name of the event/dates as part of the sticker), and include those in the giveaway packet.

The participants like the stickers and it gets my designs and company name out there in a way that also gives back to the community.

Why does the bald guy in a blue house give before he has clients?
I know you think I am crazy.

You think he won’t have his blue house for much longer if he keeps this up.

Hey how did my wife get on here? Needless to say she has some reservations.

But I believe I have been inspired to do this. In just 2 weeks people from 48 countries have checked out my site. And the ones that are staying and playing will be my future clients.

I know it sounds crazy. But as I said above I believe I have been inspired to do this.
